I just finished watching the movie, Grave Encounters, and I actually really recommend it. Not a fan of Paranormal Activity (although I have seen all three because it somehow became something I NEEDED to do), or movies that go off of the handheld camcorder cinematography, but this one made my chest hurt.
It probably helps that SOMEONE put it on and led me to believe it was real, and in which case I have probably diminished any chance of you feeling the same way I do after watching it, but it was sooo good.
It’s like when you meet someone and before you get to know them they just come off as this pompous douche bag, and you’re like dude what the fuck. But after you start prying you see who they really are, all the fucked up things inside their heads that make them human and scared and with a head full of ghosts and monsters, real and imaginary.
Horror movies don’t scare me. I love them, but it takes a certain kind of horror that evokes an overwhelming sense of sadness that picks away at your sanity & you feel any sort of safety start to drain down your throat and become washed away in stomach acid that makes me like it. OH THIS MOVIE. OH MY CHEST. PEPTO BISMOL.
